Boy Genius has reported that the next version of iTunes (iTunes 9) will include Blu-ray support (although no computer in Apple’s current line-up offers Blu-ray support at the mean time), other rumours point that next rev of iMacs will include Blu-ray support.
The other rumoured feature is Apps organization which include the ability to visually organize and arrange your iPhone and iPod touch applications.
Does that mean we can edit the homescreen layout on the computer? I hope so.![]()

Do you think that we will ever be able to download blu-ray quality movies from the iTunes stores.
That's a bit of an optimistic prediction. Given the current state of affairs in the world's economics and Telco companies rigorous cost reductions (I work for the UK's largest and I fear I am going every to lose my job on a daily basis, that's how bad it is) I doubt we are going to see a unified fibre-optic broadband network within the next 5 years capable of reaching those speeds worldwide nevermind 2 years. The guy you know who has 120Mbit/s broadband is one hell of a lucky guy but don't use that as a prediction, some parts of the UK which I class as a highly developed country are barely capable of receiving 2Mbit/s whereas other parts are enjoying anywhere up to 50Mbit/s.
Don't forget its not just the medium that they use to carry it to the house that matters, the Telco's have to invest huge amounts of money into a new backbone network as the current ATM based transmission network will fall on its knees if people are given access to such high speed service.
It will take much longer than 5 years.. Heck Australia still barely has good cable internet! The put caps on everything, and its sooo slow.
I'm glad I don't live there.

I didn't say we would see it in 5 years lol, my exact words were "I doubt we will see it within 5 years <blah blah> nevermind 2 years!". Meaning its going to take longer than 5 years.
To be fair many Telco's are making an effort but its too little at the minute. The UK has 21CN looming round the corner but there are huge amounts of technical difficulties with getting it to work etc etc.
But yeah on the whole I have to agree, Australia has a pretty crappy telecoms network compared to some of the European countries.
Yes I know you said that you doubt we will see it in 5. I was backing you up
Australia and America are so behind compared to Europe, Japan and Korea.
Its shoking since they both are very wealthy countries.

I think a lot of it is due to lack of regulation, America and Australia don't have a regulated market and it shows. Although OFCOM are a pain in the ass they certainly have an impact on the European Telco's. As for Japan they always have the best of everything technology wise so it goes without saying that Japan will have a superior telecoms network anyway... lol
